Silence is a special ally for health and wellbeing.
We live in a fast-paced world, with lots of noise – outer noise, traffic, phones ringing, people chatting or demanding; and inner noise, the self-talking, judging, planning, rushing, all never stopping.
In all of that, it is easy to slip into overdrive and become stressed, drowned in the thousands of things you have or want to do.
The good news is that even a short break from all the noise, from all your duties and wants can easily calm body and mind. Just a minute of silence once a day will bring incredible results in your life. It might take a while to get used to this new practice, but once this is accomplished, you will find yourself immersed in peaceful silence for longer, with no effort.
When you are silent, you activate your creativity. This allows you to find solutions that you would have never thought of with your logical mind. You become more aware of who you are, of what works for you and what doesn’t, of what makes you happy and what doesn’t. New ideas come in and build the momentum to transform your life in the journey of your deepest dreams.
There are many ways to start. You can sit or walk in nature and observe your surroundings, hear the sounds, smell the scents, feel your body moving, the elements touching your skin. You can sit at home, just for one minute before starting the day, and pay attention to your breath gently going in and out through your nostrils. Be present and let the silence surprise you.
What about starting such a potent and effective practice by joining kindred people on the Global Silent Minute? The Annual Silent Minute is coming soon, on the 21st December at 9.00 pm UK time. You can then continue your practice daily, with the help of the clip you can find on their website. Individual practice achieves incredible results when it is joined with the effort of thousands of people all around the world.
If you want more personalised help to start or develop your practice, we can harness together the power of silence to improve your health and wellbeing.
